Pure Practice

Monday October 19th, 2009

Welcome to Alison, who joined us for the first time this month. The meeting topic was 'Pure Practice', meaning that group members were free to choose which aspect of Clean Language and Symbolic Modelling to focus on. To help everyone decide, Marian handed out copies of the assessment criteria and briefly explained the various bits of terminology.

One group had a go at co-facilitating - two facilitators with one client - and reported that they learned a lot. Another group focused on noticing how many of each Clean question the facilitator asked, as well as practising the 'framework for change'. And a third group - of newer members - got to grips with the basics like syntax and noticing metaphors in each others' language.

We concluded that the skills listed on the criteria sheet are quite wide ranging, so we could have focused on a particular skill as a group (indeed the list of skills could keep us going with topic ideas for at least a year...), although it was also good to have a 'pure practice' frame so people could decide for themselves what they needed.

Our next meeting is on Monday 16th November. We hope to see you there!
