Penny Tompkins
Penny Tompkins is co-developer of Symbolic Modelling which incorporates the Clean Language of David Grove, and has co-authored Metaphors in Mind: Transformation through Symbolic Modelling and a training DVD, A Strange and Strong Sensation.
Penny is a leader in the field of autogenic metaphor and systemic change, and has been a psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Pyschotherapy (UKCP) since 1993. She is a supervisor, coach in business, and international trainer.
Penny says: “I am as excited by this work today as I was in 1994 when I first saw David Grove model a Metaphor Landscape. It truly is a leading-edge process. When you learn to model using Clean Language you automatically develop your facilitation skills and learn loads about yourself in the process. It becomes a ‘gift that keeps on giving’ for both you and others.”
Penny’s latest projects are her involvement in a national BBC Radio 4 programme on ‘Metaphor and Healing’; (with James Lawley) writing a new book on Self-Deception, Self-Delusion, Self-Denial: And How To Act From What You Know To Be True; and spending more time in Australia enjoying its beautiful cities, beaches and sunshine ... and of course supporting the Symbolic Modelling community ‘down under’.
“I love working with Marian and being involved with the innovation that keeps springing up at Apricot Island. When Marian and I get together to design a workshop (such as Discover Your Assertive Self) the co-inspiration begins and what emerges becomes a truly unique creation.”
